For Actors
For those actors who wish to get involved with Readers Theater Television, there are a few things you should know:
- You will not receive any payment for your time and effort. This is a volunteer group.
- You will be given credit for your time and effort.
- These readings do not constitute an audition.
- We do not check your union affiliations.
- You will be required to sign a release to allow your image to be broadcast on Public Access TV.
Your commitment:
The basic production schedule is to:
- cast the characters.
- review the script with the writer.
- rehearse the reading in the studio.
- tape the performance read in the studio.
In all, we try to limit the time commitment to 8 hours over a couple days.
The Performance Read:
The performance is recorded in a "live-to-tape" fashion using a 3 camera setup within the studio. As the performance proceeds, camera cuts are edited in and recorded directly onto a master tape.
To submit your headshot and resume, please send to the address on the About page. Any headshots sent by e-mail should be only 300pixels wide by 500pixels high. Better yet, if available, only provide a link to your web site, instead of actually sending the headshot and resume.
