Readers Theater Television is dedicated to providing professional readings of screenplays, teleplays, and theatrical plays. This is a great opportunity for writers to hear their works performed while developing them for the big or small screen or full stage productions. It also provides a great opportunity for actors to be involved in a variety of projects without extended commitments.
"Performance Reads... Its like a table read on steroids"This volunteer group produces several readings a year for broadcast on public access television. Actors/readers are provided with credit for their work and the opportunity to work on many scripts without the time commitment associated with full productions.
Readers Theater Television provides "Performance Reads." This type of reading is more interactive than the standard table reading. Actors stand and interact with other actors as they present the characters for each scene. Writers not only hear the voice of the characters but also see the interaction between characters. Its like a table read on steroids.
Actors/readers provide the voice of the characters in our performance reads. We are always looking for new actors for our readings. Check the Readings page and the Actors page for details on what is expected from actors.
Writers provide the original scripts for our readings. The scripts are read as a service to allow them to hear the voice of the characters as they develop their work. We are always looking for new scripts to perform for our group. Check the Writers page for details on what is expected from writers.
